Pennsylvania Barndominium Builders
BarndoBuilderList editorial team·Reviewed by Austin Hardcastle, founder
Pennsylvania has 40 listings with barndominium signal, in 29 cities, and New Holland is the only city with more than one. Twenty-two of the 40 have a dedicated barndominium page, which is 55 percent of this state list. Four mention barndos repeatedly, and 14 mention them once.
By listing count, Pennsylvania ranks 13th of the 50 states we track. Nine records have coordinates and a blank city, so they appear on the map without adding to a town total.

Twelve listings use a Lancaster County city
New Holland has three dedicated-page listings: New Holland Supply, a building materials supplier, plus Sunrise Valley Construction and Heritage Buildings, both filed as construction companies. No other Pennsylvania city breaks a tie at one.
Nine more listings use other Lancaster County cities. Fetterville Pole Buildings is in East Earl. Tucquan Hollow Builders is in Christiana. Silver Spring Construction is in Drumore. Lancaster Barndominium Builders is in Holtwood. Tristate Buildings is in Lancaster. Wagler Steel is in Paradise. Conowingo Builders is in Quarryville. Wynstride is in Gordonville. Double S Construction is in New Providence. Together with New Holland, that is 12.
Do not pull Fisher Brothers into that cluster. Fisher Brothers Builders is in Mifflin, a general contractor with a single barndo mention, and Mifflin is not a Lancaster County city in this file. Nottingham is Heritage Post Frame, a construction company with a single mention and heavy post-frame language on the site, and Nottingham sits in Chester County.
West of the mountains the city list thins out. Olympia Steel Buildings is in McKees Rocks, with a dedicated page, a construction-company category, and 645 Google reviews, the most on this state list. Fetterville Sales in Bridgeville is a separate record from the East Earl pole-building shop. Shamrock Pole Buildings is in Washington. R&N Steel Building Manufacturing is in Pittsburgh, with a single mention. Greenville has Reynolds Building Systems. Franklin has J M Warren Buildings. That western city group is six listings, and Punxsutawney adds VMS Construction on its own.
The northeast side of the file is Schuylkill Haven, Tamaqua, Swoyersville, and Shickshinny. Pioneer Pole Buildings in Schuylkill Haven has 462 Google reviews and repeated barndo mentions, not a dedicated page. Zawada Enterprises in Tamaqua has a dedicated page and 103 Google reviews. Radius pages exist for Lancaster, Philadelphia, Harrisburg, Allentown, Scranton, Pittsburgh, and Erie.
Pole-barn language shows up more often than steel labels
Twenty-seven Pennsylvania listings have at least one pole-barn mention in the pages we crawled. Twenty-two have a post-frame mention. Only six have a metal-building mention. The category field agrees with that tilt: 19 are construction companies, nine are general contractors or contractors, five are home builders, and three carry a metal or steel category.
Names that say pole or post-frame, checked against the city on the record: Fetterville Pole Buildings in East Earl, Pioneer Pole Buildings in Schuylkill Haven, Shamrock Pole Buildings in Washington, Heritage Post Frame in Nottingham, and Pole Vault Construction, which has post-frame mentions and no city stored. Post-frame and red-iron are different structures. Ask which one the quote uses before you compare two prices.
The Pennsylvania cost row sits above Georgia and North Carolina
Pennsylvania’s row in the cost table runs from $70 to $155 per square foot. That is above the Georgia row, $60 to $145, and above the North Carolina row, $60 to $140. It is not the top row in the national table. Several coastal and northeastern states sit higher. See the full set on cost by state.
The table does not explain the gap. We are not assigning it to snow, truss spacing, or any other cause we did not measure.
Township and county expectations differ from one address to the next. Talk to the local office for that parcel before you buy the ground or sign a contract.

Questions from Pennsylvania lots
- How big is the Pennsylvania builder file?
- Forty listings, 29 cities. Twenty-two have a dedicated barndominium page, four mention barndos repeatedly, and 14 mention them once. Pennsylvania ranks 13th by listing count.
- Where do Pennsylvania listings bunch up?
- New Holland has three, and that is the only city with more than one. Twelve listings use a Lancaster County city. Other towns from the Lehigh Valley to western Pennsylvania show up once each.
- Why might two Pennsylvania quotes be hard to compare?
- A lot of this list uses pole-barn and post-frame language on the crawled pages, and only three listings have a metal or steel category. Ask which structural system you are being priced, then compare.
- Is Pennsylvania the most expensive state in your cost table?
- No. The Pennsylvania finished band is $70 to $155 per square foot, higher than Georgia and North Carolina in that table, and lower than several other states.
- Does a dedicated page mean you recommend the builder?
- No. It means their site has a dedicated barndominium page, which is the strongest signal we sort on. Recommendations are not for sale. The methodology page spells out the groups.
